That’s right, Google’s Android operating system has finally moved beyond the G1.  Some enterprising phone fans have been working to bring the operating system to other phones, and Engadget has an encouraging video of Android running on the HTC Touch.  This has been in the works for some time now, and while some ports of the open source Android haven’t been that great, this one is.  The Touch version featured a soft keyboard and several other Android features, although there’s no Bluetooth, GPS, or USB features yet.  This version of Android for the Touch is live, too, so if you’re daring, you can download it and give it a shot.  After all, you only need to restart your phone to get back to Windows Mobile, so why not give Android a test drive?
