While it’s not an announcement about a new phone, it is good to know that our favorite phone maker, HTC, has done better than many financial analysts thought the company would do in 2008. While their overall net profit for the year was actually 0.9 percent less than it was in 2007, that doesn’t mean the company did poorly. In fact, analysts estimated HTC would make a 2008 profit of 28.4 billion in Taiwan dollars. To their surprise, HTC brought in T$28.7 for the year. That’s not bad at all. In fact, it pretty much guarantees we will be seeing HTC’s name on phones for quite some time.
