We brought you the news that Verizon was finally getting the HTC Touch Diamond (launching today, in fact), but we’ve just learned that the $199 price tag for the mobile device on contract isn’t correct—instead, Verizon is charging $299.99 with a contract!  That’s pretty steep for a fairly old device.  There’s nothing different about Verizon’s Touch Diamond except that is does feature a microSD card slot.  It still has the same 3.2 megapixel camera and such.  With an extra hundred dollars added to the price, how many of these do you think will sell, and how soon do you think it will be before the price is slashed?
