According to information from the Bluetooth SIG group, the next Android phone may very well be called the HTC Fiesta. However, when we reported on the leaked list of 2009 HTC devices, there was nothing about a handset named the Fiesta on it. What could this mean? Well, not a lot. All we know right now is that the Fiesta will be Bluetooth compatible, will run Android, and will be available in North America, Europe, and Asia. One possibility is that one of the devices on the list has had a name change. Another is that the Fiesta is a 2010 device. We’ll keep looking for more information on this new device.

While the HTC Touch Pro 2 was announced in February, no release information has been available until now. According to Expansys, which has the Touch Pro 2 up for pre-order now, the device will be available on June 5 and will run Windows Mobile 6.1, not the rumored 6.5. Of course, it will be available to upgrade at a later date. Expansys has the device listed at £452.17 or $661. This price is not set in stone, of course, and it doesn’t include any contact discount. No release date or official carrier has been announced for a U.S. release, although HTC has said the device will be available worldwide.

Previously, we mentioned that the HTC Cedar has received approval by the FCC. Well, apparently that was the Cedar 200—a portrait style device with a QWERTY keyboard. Now the FCC has reviewed the HTC Cedar 100. It’s fairly common for HTC and other device manufacturers to created different versions of the same device using the same name with a number after it, and that looks like what has happened here. Both Cedar 200 and Cedar 100 are CDMA, so it’s likely they’re the models aimed for Verizon or Sprint. How do the two devices differ? We’ll keep you updated that and other news.

Want to check out a preview of Need for Speed Undercover on the HTC Touch HD? If so, head over to WMExperts. Need for Speed Undercover, an entry in the Need for Speed racing series, is one of the most anticipated mobile games of 2009. It will be available for the Windows Marketplace for Mobile when that launches later this year. The game looks like it runs pretty smoothly, which is great news for those with the Touch HD and those who plan on buying a Touch Pro 2 or Touch Diamond 2. Both of these new devices have basically the same specs that the Touch HD has.

Taiwanese HTC lovers will get the chance to grab the HTC Touch Diamond 2 during April, although no actual date has been given. The Touch Diamond 2 is one of the first of a number of highly expected devices HTC is releasing in 2009. What will it take to get one of these? $21,900 in New Taiwan Dollars. That’s around $650 in U.S. currency or £440. The device is set to ship with an eight gigabyte memory card, which is very nice. The device is also set to launch in the UK next week, although no U.S. release date has been announced.

Well, we don’t know this for certain, but T-Mobile has announced that they are holding a special event on April 21st in New York. No details have been given, so we don’t know what this mystery event is all about, but the last time they did something like this, it was to release the HTC G1. So far, most people are expecting the event to include the unveiling of the HTC Magic/G2/whatever they’re calling it these days. Rumors say the T-Mobile version of the handset is due to be released soon. We’ll be sure to let you know if this event is the Magic’s coming out party or if it’s about something else.

We brought you the news that Verizon was finally getting the HTC Touch Diamond (launching today, in fact), but we’ve just learned that the $199 price tag for the mobile device on contract isn’t correct—instead, Verizon is charging $299.99 with a contract! That’s pretty steep for a fairly old device. There’s nothing different about Verizon’s Touch Diamond except that is does feature a microSD card slot. It still has the same 3.2 megapixel camera and such. With an extra hundred dollars added to the price, how many of these do you think will sell, and how soon do you think it will be before the price is slashed?

Apparently T-Mobile has decided it doesn’t like the name G2 for the U.S. release of the HTC Magic/HTC Sapphire. They’ve started doing some market testing for a few new names, but, well, so far G2 is looking pretty good. Some of the names we’ve heard include “T-Mobile Genius 3G with Google,” “Prism 3G with Google,” and “myTouch 3G with Google.” Those are certainly different, but they aren’t that amazing (especially not myTouch!). The name “T-Mobile G3” was also mentioned, which is very interesting since that would mean they plan on naming something else the G2 or they’re going to skip over that name. We’ll let you know what name T-Mobile settles on once it’s announced.
