Well, according to rumors, the HTC Shadow II may be finally stepping into the spotlight at last. We’ve been hearing rumors about the Shadow II off and on for quite some time now, but it looks like HTC’s slider may finally be approaching a release, or at least an announcement. The phone will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 and, according to new whispering, will also support HotSpot WiFi. While the Shadow II may not be as cool as the HTC G1 or the other newest, top of the line phones, it may have one advantage over them: it will most likely be priced cheaper. If you don’t need everything the G1 offers, this might be a great option for you.

Want a T-Mobile G1? OK, no problem. Want one in white? Well, you’ll be facing a short delay—the white G1 isn’t on T-Mobile’s website yet, and it looks like it won’t actually be available to the general public until after Thanksgiving. According to Engadget, who got this juicy tidbit from TMO News, the white G1 isn’t shipping to the US until after the holiday. The issue seems to be that the white paint used on the phone chips much too easily, although that’s just a rumor at this point. However, there is some precedent for this: Dell had the same issue with their white XPS m1330 laptop a year ago, and they ended up discontinuing the white model completely.

Verizon is set to launch the Touch Pro on November 24, giving many something to be thankful about. Don’t expect to pick up this little gem for anything less than $350, though—and that’s after the $70 mail-in rebate! Even with a two-year contract, you’re still looking at a starting price of $419.99. The Touch Pro certainly isn’t the cheapest smart phone around, but at least Verizon has one. T-Mobile is still missing its HTC phone, although they do have some nice alternatives.

For those of us who were eagerly awaiting the HTC’s Touch HD, it’s a sad day. Despite what HTC calls overwhelmingly strong demand for the phone in the United States and other areas, they’ve officially stated that it’s not going to happen. Why? An HTC representative says it would simply take too much time and effort to get a North American 3G band up and running. Their best advice: wait until the next round of smart phones and hope once again.
