A number of sites have gotten their hands on the upcoming HTC Touch Diamond and provide in-depth reviews of the HTC Touch Diamond. The latest coming from
MobileTechReview.
They were very impressed with the build and design of the device, despite it being a magnet for fingerprints. TouchFLO 3D was termed "fun and interesting, though it doesn't translate into more efficient and expedient UI". The internal GPS has full support for Google Maps, WIndows Live Search and more importantly real time navigation software apps made by CoPilot and the like. Battery life was tested using EDGE. The European version does not support US 3G networks. We fully expect HTC to ship a 3G supported HTC Touch when it eventually gets picked up in the US. Complaints were minimal, with the reviewer suggesting TouchFLO 3D needs tweaks to improve usability. Hopefully, HTC will address these issues before the US release. For more information, check out their comprehensive review.

The folks over at PocketNow have extracted the video for your viewing pleasure. Notice the email in the video. While it certainly looks amazing, you have to wonder if this could be difficult to navigate compared to how mail is viewed now on a traditional Windows Mobile device.

HTC hosted a special event today to announce the upcoming release of the new HTC Touch Diamond. The HTC Touch Diamond is a radical shift from the original Touch offering a new 3-D user interface that pits it directly against the iPhone. The new HTC Touch Diamond will be available in June in Europe, with US customers having to wait until the second half of 2008.
