Default Is the G1 an Iphone Killer?

i dont think so.. i mean, open source is awesome.. but having the phone look the way it does i think just killed it.. looks like an old atari controller to me.. maybe an atari controller is a little much, im just saying that for such a new phone its looks like the phone came out around 3 years ago.. if the phone looked a little more like the touch hd then i think it would have been a definate iphone killer... so nah, not gonna happen. What do you think?

I believe that the Android OS might one day be an iPhone killer! But certainly not anytime soon. I have quite a few Mac Friends. They are of the opinion that anything Jobs releases is better because it has that logo on it! But the iPhone is beautiful. Both to hold and to play with! It is great with video, youtube, music, and by the way, is a fairly decent cell phone! The one thing that keeps it out of this user's hands, is the fact that to do just about anything, takes BOTH HANDS.

If the two year price point is any indication of future gphones however, Apple's profit margin just began to shrink. Now that 3rd party developers have cause to develop for this platform and I am thinking that you and I are the real winners here! Now, is the gphone a Treo killer? I would say, at the very least it is another nail in the coffin . .

the only thing that i think can really save the iphone from sinking is for apple to allow open source applications to be applied as well as not closing the door on these new developers.. apple is going to need to get passed the greed if they are going to want to compete.. the iphone is a really nice looking for that can remain on top if they can change their ways.. i find the gphone to be sorta ugly but having the ability to not have to pay for any bad ass programs you can find i think is a big plus in the right direction.. welcome to the future!
