Default Memory Card

Just got the Touch and can't figure out how to load the card into the phone. I see no easy button LOL I don't want to break it on the first day.

This is from HTC's support site...

. Is there any easy way for me to take out the storage card from the HTC Touch?
Remove the back cover first. You can then open the storage card and SIM card strip cover easily.

I removed the back cover and the battery and still there is no place for a card that I can see. There is a metal strip across the side but see nowhere to put a card in.

Okay, sorry for the incorrect info. From the Sprint specs on the Touch:

Card Type: microSD (TransFlash)
512 MB card included / slot hidden behind right side panel

That metal strip covers the microSD slot. It is very intimidating to take this brand new, shiny phone and start prying pieces off. Unfortunately, that is what you have to do. The trim piece actually "folds" down, it does not come completely off. Check the htc web site for the owners manual.

Actually once you have popped the back cover off and are looking at the battery the chrome strip on the stylus side of the phone flips up (away from the display) not down. But only once you have pried it away from the body of the phone just a bit. I suggest being a little gentle and work it from both ends more so than the middle. As I have a friend who actually bowed that piece a little in the middle and now it doesn't close tight to the line of the body any more.

Hope that helps.
