when i get it what are some basic programs i should put on it? i'm mainly interested in watching video, surfing the internet and other multimedia. also what is a good registry editor (hopefully one thats foolproof because i'm horrible with this stuff) so i can get more battery life and faster internet ot of it.

I believe resco has the best registry editor I believe. Back in my Treo 700w days, that is the registry editor name that kept popping up.

Check out ppcgeeks, I;m a member over there and we Mod ROMS, which means change the software a bit to make it your own, a customization if you like. Skyfire beta is an awesome web browser, (currently in private beta) Multimedia TCPMP (the Core pocket Media Player) and for reg edits I use PHM registry editor.
